Determination of the Geometric Properties of a Jet Engine Fan Blades Based on Modal Vibration Testing

Abstract The article presents an experimental method of determining the geometric properties jet engine rotor airfoils based on modal vibration testing. procedure is adjusting results analytical calculations to laboratory outcomes. Experimental tests were carried out a set 20 fan blades made AL7022-t6 aluminium alloy. Each blade differed in weight and dimensions within accepted design tolerance. Numerical analysis five that thickness was performed. Modal test summarised compared with obtained by numerical method. comparison revealed high similarity frequency form vibrations acquired simulation for each relation executed Based verification theoretical model through testing, conclusions drawn about object’s dynamic behaviour its technological quality properties, whereby airfoil probably thinned.
